Location: Ishigaki, Japan
The pier was the biggest goldmine for animals I had ever come across.
A spectrum of sparkling fish swam through the clear water.

Spiky crabs climbed the jagged rocks.

Sea cucumbers rested on the crusty sand.

Birds pecked at shells in hopes of finding something tasty to eat.

And best of all was a long spotted snake-like creature slithering through the water. It was completely unexpected and I nearly missed it, for when I stepped close it darted back under the pier. I was lucky to snap a few pictures before it escaped.
